Donations

Fifty5five is a 501c, non-profit corporation. We rely on your financial support in our ministry. Approximately 50% of every dollar you donate goes directly to support mission trips in the form of travel expenses, teacher training supplies, food for our team and the local trainees, and food for the kids attending the associated Vacation Bible Study. There is one exception to that 50% estimate. Every one of our travels pays there own expenses. Any donation you make that is “earmarked” to support a specific traveler during a specific mission trip will be applied 100% to that travelers expenses. Consider making a onetime or recurring donation to this wonderful ministry.

Events

Events are the official fund raisers Fifty5five hosts. We have three primary events each year. They are two “Grand Teas” and a fireworks booth. We begin our fund raising year with a Spring Tea. Generally held the Saturday before Mother’s Day, this is a great opportunity for food, fellowship, and financial support. Our summer fundraising event consists of a fireworks booth operated during the seven days leading up to the 4th of July holiday. If you are in the Sacramento, CA area, stop in and fill your list of fireworks needs, while reaching our to the children of the world at the same time. Fifty5five closes out our fundraising year with a Christmas Tea. Again, a great time for food, fellowship, and financial support, however we also offer a boutique filled with great Christmas gifts.

One last thought about events. No event can be successful without volunteers. The teas require set up, food preparation, server, and clean up crews, while the fireworks booth needs at least three to four workers at a time during the entire seven days we are open. We are open ten to twelve hours a day, and have two shifts of workers each day. Many of our volunteers have been coming back for years because of the wonderful fellowship.

Mission Travel Team

Finally, if you are a dedicated Christian, trusting in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we may have a spot for you on our travel team. We attempt to do two or three mission trips every year. Past trips have included Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, India, Nicaragua, Cambodia, The Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.

Teacher training and the associated vacation bible studies are the reason for Fifty5five’s existence. For Fifty5five, the mission trips are our passion, however, as an individual, it is part of your mission to fulfill Christ’s commission to you to share his love with the world. It isn’t easy. The days are long, typically starting by five in the morning with devotions and preparation. It continues throughout the day hosting the teacher training and vacation bible studies. And, we finish the day with more devotions, debriefing the day’s successes and opportunities, and starting preparations for the following day. Finally, each of our travelers pays their own way. It isn’t for everyone, however, if your are the right person, the rewards are immeasurable!
